In 2008, he was conferred with the title of Padma Shri by Smt. Pratibha Patil, the Honourable President of India. This was for the first time that an NRI from the Gulf was honoured with this prestigious title. In 2012, Yusuff Ali M.A. was honored with the ‘Most Influential Asian Business Leader in the MENA region’ award by the Forbes ME magazine. Forbes Middle East’s 2012 list of the region’s top business leaders, features for the first time ever, both private and family owned businesses. The list was unveiled at the Forbes ME CEO Forum and the awards were presented by H.E. Dr. Rashid Ahmed Mohammed Bin Fahad.

Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Department of Civil Aviation and Chairman of Emirates Airlines, at the Asian Business Leadership Forum (ABLF) Awards held on 14th December 2013 at Armani Hotel, Burj Khalifa, Dubai. This third edition of the ABLF Awards was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al-Nahayan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development.

Honoured by Dubai Cares

Dubai Cares, a philanthropic organization launched in 2007 by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, working to improve children’s access to quality primary education in developing countries, honoured Mr. Yussuf Ali M.A., among other individuals and organizations in the UAE, for their support towards the cause. Dubai Cares was able to reach out to over 7 million children in 28 countries by building and renovating 20 schools and 1,500 educational centres in Bangladesh, providing daily free meals to 320,000 students in Ghana and supplying drinking water and healthcare facilities to 2,300 schools in Mali and Indonesia.

The award was given by Mr. Walid Akawi, CEO of ITP Group.

Mr. Yusuff Ali M. A. was conferred with the prestigious Interfaith Harmony Award as part of the United Nation’s Interfaith Harmony Week initiatives held recently in Kuala Lumpur. He received the award from Dato’ Azman Amin B Hassan, Director-General of Department of National Unity and Integration, Government of Malaysia.

Conferred with the title of ‘Commander‘ in 2004 by His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas, the Supreme Head of the Universal Syrian Orthodox Church. This was the first time that a person from a different community was being presented with this title. The award was in merit of his efforts in promoting communal harmony and humanitarian activities by the Universal Syrian Orthodox Church.
