Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 20: Extending support to  Wayanad disaster victims, Lulu Group Chairman Yusuffali M.A. has donated 10 crore to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. He handed over the cheque to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the Secretariat today.

Yusuffali had earlier contributed 5 crore in August as the initial phase of aid for the Wayanad disaster victims. Today, he handed over an additional 10 crore to the Chief Minister, marking the second phase of support.

The contribution will support the construction of 50 houses for families displaced by the massive landslide that struck Mundakkai and Chooralmala on July 30, 2024. 

The Lulu Group’s assistance is expected to significantly accelerate ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts. The proposed housing project includes a well-planned township equipped with essential facilities, aimed at providing long-term shelter and stability for the affected families.
